Tango Dance Etiquette

vs Milonga

What is a practica?A practica is a space in between tango classes and the social dance floor. Milonga is the social dance party, the mood tends to be formal as well as the dress, and some measure of old-fashioned etiquette is expected.Practicas are much more casual in behavior and in dress. Floorcraft protocols are generally relaxed as compared to a milonga, specifically, it is ok to talk during the dance and impending traffic, within reason, while you work on a step. The practicas are dedicated to tango students and dancers of all levels. it is for those that want to practice, investigate and improve; steps, ideas, concepts, embellishments, musicality and technique. It is especially useful to practice things recently learned that are not ready to be debuted at the milonga. The idea is to create a creative and relaxed enviroment, where each person should use their right to make mistakes
